Tennis Elbow
Elbow pain holding you back? Get back to lifting, gripping and enjoying everyday activities without discomfort.

Tennis elbow, also known as lateral elbow tendinopathy, causes pain around the outside of the elbow. Despite its name, it is not just caused by playing tennis. It commonly develops through repetitive arm and wrist movements, overuse or activities involving repeated gripping and lifting.

Symptoms can include pain on the outside of the elbow, tenderness, reduced grip strength and discomfort when lifting objects, turning door handles or using your wrist.

At RD Physio in Wokingham, we assess the underlying cause of your elbow pain and provide individualised physiotherapy to help reduce symptoms, improve tendon strength and restore normal arm function.

Treatment may include hands-on therapy, appropriate strengthening exercises, movement advice and a progressive rehabilitation programme tailored to your needs.

Common symptoms:

  • Pain on the outside of the elbow

  • Pain when gripping or lifting objects

  • Weakness in the hand or wrist

  • Pain when twisting or turning the forearm

  • Discomfort when using a computer or doing repetitive tasks

  • Elbow pain that worsens with activity

Golfers Elbow
Pain on the inside of your elbow shouldn't stop you doing what you love. Let's get you stronger and moving with confidence again.

Golfer's elbow, also known as medial elbow tendinopathy, causes pain around the inside of the elbow. Although commonly associated with golf, it can affect anyone who regularly performs repetitive gripping, lifting or wrist movements.

Symptoms often include pain and tenderness on the inside of the elbow, discomfort when gripping objects, lifting or bending the wrist, and sometimes weakness in the hand or forearm.

At RD Physio in Wokingham, we assess your elbow, wrist and forearm to identify the factors contributing to your symptoms. We then develop a personalised treatment and rehabilitation programme to help reduce pain, improve strength and restore comfortable movement.

Treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, progressive strengthening exercises and advice on managing activities that aggravate your symptoms.

Common symptoms:

  • Pain on the inside of the elbow

  • Pain when gripping or carrying objects

  • Discomfort when bending the wrist

  • Weakness in the hand or forearm

  • Pain when lifting or twisting

  • Tenderness around the inner elbow

If you are experiencing hand or elbow pain, stiffness or weakness and are unsure whether it could be related to a tendon problem, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, repetitive strain or another condition, an assessment can help clarify the likely cause and appropriate next steps.

At RD Physio, treatment is tailored to your symptoms, movement and individual goals. Whether you are struggling with gripping, lifting, carrying, twisting or everyday activities, physiotherapy may help reduce discomfort, improve strength and restore movement and function.
